    The team responsible for http://www.skinadog.com (“we” or “us”) is committed to respecting your privacy.  Please read the following policy (“Policy”) to understand how your personal information collected through http://www.skinadog.com (the “Site”) will be treated.  By using the Site, you warrant and represent that you have read, understand, and agree to all terms and conditions stated herein. 1.0     Revisions to this Policy
This Policy may be updated from time to time on our site.  The actions we take with regard to collecting and sharing information is subject to the Policy posted at that time. Therefore, you should check the Site frequently to see recent changes. This Policy was last revised on 6/1/2009.

2.0     Personally Identifiable Information Collected from You
    It is possible to become a registered user with a profile on the Site, in which case you will be prompted to provide information about yourself that could be used to identify you. The personal information that we collect from you includes your name, birth date, e-mail address, mailing address, and phone number. For both registered and unregistered users, it is also possible to purchase services and products through the Site. In making a purchase, you will be required to submit your credit card information. If you are purchasing a product, you will also be asked for your mailing address, and, if you are paying for a phone consultation, you may be required to provide your phone number. The payment information is transmitted through a secure, encrypted communication channel. Wherever we collect personal information, we make an effort to include a link to this Policy on that page of the Site.

3.0    Cookies
    We may place Internet “cookies” on your hard drive.  Internet cookies are small files that can be stored on your computer’s hard disk for record-keeping purposes.  They are used to (a) remind us of who you are in order to deliver you better service; (b) estimate our audience size by determining repeat usage of the Site to help target advertisements based on user interests and behavior; and (c) measure certain traffic patterns for use as a research tool to understand how our users’ habits are similar or different from one another and how we can adjust the Site to suit our users’ needs.  It is possible to set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it.  Be forewarned that if you do not accept a cookie, it may cause the associated pages of the Site to display incorrectly or, in some cases, may completely prevent you from accessing certain information on the Site.

    We may store the “IP address” of each user that visits the Site. An IP address is a computer’s unique identification number on the Internet. We store IP addresses to track each user’s session, while the user remains anonymous.  

5.0    How Your Information is Used
    We will not sell, rent or lease your personally identifiable information to others without your consent.  However, where necessary for performing services for us, our agents, contractors, or business partners may also access your personally identifiable information.

    We want to help you get the most out of the Site by alerting you with notifications of updates to the Site as they occur. Notwithstanding the above, we do research on our users’ demographics, interests and behavior based on the information provided to us during your use of the Site.  This research is compiled and analyzed on an aggregated basis.  Aggregated data does not include personally identifiable information.  We may share this aggregated data with others.

As a matter of standard procedure, information submitted by you will generally be stored indefinitely on our servers.  That said, if we are required by law to delete information from our databases, such as under the Child Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), we will do so. 6.0    How to View, Modify, or Delete Your Information
    You can request the individual information that we have collected about you, correct factual inaccuracies in your information, remove personal information from our data bases and/or update your personal information by contacting webmaster [at] skinadog [dot] com. If you attempt to change your date of birth information to indicate that you are older than what your profile states; we may request supporting documentation. We follow this policy in order to comply with the strict requirements of COPPA.

7.0    Age Restrictions
    Only people that are at least 18 years old may create a profile on the Site. If you are a parent that knows that your child, who is below 18 years old, has a profile on the Site without your supervision, please contact us at webmaster@skinadog.com and provide your full name, address, phone number, email address, and the name on the profile.

8.0    Security
    Your profile on the Site is password protected. However, it is important that you exercise caution for the password protection to be of use. Some simple practices you could take advantage of are logging out of your account on the Site when you are going to be away from your computer and remembering to never give your password to anyone.

9.0    Items Not Covered In This Policy
    Third-party Internet sites and services accessible through the Site have separate privacy and data collection practices, independent of us.  We take no responsibility for and will not be liable for the policies or actions of these third-party sites.  Generally, if you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unwanted messages from members of the public in return.

10.0    Necessary Disclosures
    In situations where it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, violations of the Terms of Use, the Terms of Sale, or to otherwise comply with the law, we will do so.  Also, where necessary in the event of a merger, consolidation, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, we may share your information with a third party without your prior consent.

11.0     Disclaimer
    Notwithstanding the forgoing policies and precautions that we exercise, we expressly disclaim any liability that may arise from your provision of any information about yourself to the Site. To this extent, you agree to hold us harmless from any liability related to your provision of personal information to the Site. Moreover, you understand and agree, as provided by the Terms of Use, that you grant us a license to display on the Site any material that you hold proprietary rights in and which you post to the Site. Also, keep in mind that any information posted to a message board on the Site is available for viewing by the public.
