Not so Fast Mary J. Blige!

  Now ya'll know Mary is my girl but it seems she made a mistake when she announced on national television that she was heading to college in the fall. Mary J. Blige recently received an honorary GED and had high hopes of attending Howard University in Washington, D.C. Mary announced on "Good Morning America" that she was accepted to the school and would receive her bachelors degree as part of the graduating class of 2014. According to the school the R&B singer has not been accepted into the college to their knowledge and this is what they had to say..."Without question, Ms. Mary J. Blige's resilience and dedication to her craft are largely unmatched. Howard University congratulates Ms. Blige on the recent completion of her high school requirements. We encourage Ms. Blige to continue her studies and welcome her consideration of Howard University in the future. We are happy to work with Ms. Blige on completing the formal process for admission."

I think its great that she is passionate about education after dropping out of high school, I am just a little concerned as to why she thinks she got accepted into a university and they have no record of her even applying. I hope that she gets this situation worked out and does continue her education. This will show children and adults from around the world that education is important and it is never too late to go back to school!
